Natural Gas Inventory Report 4-09-09

Working gas in storage was 1,674 Bcf as of Friday, April 3, 2009, according to EIA estimates. This represents a net increase of 20 Bcf from the previous week. Stocks were 438 Bcf higher than last year at this time and 310 Bcf above the 5-year average of 1,364 Bcf. In the East Region, stocks were 18 Bcf above the 5-year average following net injections of 6 Bcf. Stocks in the Producing Region were 213 Bcf above the 5-year average of 531 Bcf after a net injection of 13 Bcf. Stocks in the West Region were 80 Bcf above the 5-year average after a net addition of 1 Bcf. At 1,674 Bcf, total working gas is within the 5-year historical range.
