Natural Gas Inventory Report 3-05-09

Working gas in storage was 1,793 Bcf as of Friday, February 27, 2009, according to EIA estimates. This represents a net decline of 102 Bcf from the previous week. Stocks were 270 Bcf higher than last year at this time and 218 Bcf above the 5-year average of 1,575 Bcf. In the East Region, stocks were 32 Bcf below the 5-year average following net withdrawals of 83 Bcf. Stocks in the Producing Region were 172 Bcf above the 5-year average of 536 Bcf after a net withdrawal of 15 Bcf. Stocks in the West Region were 77 Bcf above the 5-year average after a net drawdown of 4 Bcf. At 1,793 Bcf, total working gas is within the 5-year historical range.
