Working natural gas in storage was 1,564 Bcf as of Friday, April 20, 2007, according to EIA estimates. This represents a net increase of 18 Bcf from the previous week. Stocks were 276 Bcf less than last year at this time and 233 Bcf above the 5-year average of 1,331 Bcf. In the East Region, stocks were 36 Bcf above the 5-year average following net injections of 1 Bcf. Natural gas stocks in the Producing Region were 154 Bcf above the 5-year average of 493 Bcf after a net injection of 11 Bcf. Stocks in the West Region were 43 Bcf above the 5-year average after a net addition of 6 Bcf. At 1,564 Bcf, total working natural gas is within the 5-year historical range.
