Natural Gas Inventory Report 3-05-09

Working gas in storage was 1,793 Bcf as of Friday, February 27, 2009, according to EIA estimates. This represents a net decline of 102 Bcf from the previous week. Stocks were 270 Bcf higher than last year at this time and 218 Bcf above the 5-year average of 1,575 Bcf. In the East Region, stocks were 32 Bcf below the 5-year average following net withdrawals of 83 Bcf. Stocks in the Producing Region were 172 Bcf above the 5-year average of 536 Bcf after a net withdrawal of 15 Bcf. Stocks in the West Region were 77 Bcf above the 5-year average after a net drawdown of 4 Bcf. At 1,793 Bcf, total working gas is within the 5-year historical range.

Natural Gas Inventory Report 2-26-09

Working gas in storage was 1,895 Bcf as of Friday, February 20, 2009, according to EIA estimates. This represents a net decline of 101 Bcf from the previous week. Stocks were 233 Bcf higher than last year at this time and 199 Bcf above the 5-year average of 1,696 Bcf. In the East Region, stocks were 32 Bcf below the 5-year average following net withdrawals of 71 Bcf. Stocks in the Producing Region were 163 Bcf above the 5-year average of 560 Bcf after a net withdrawal of 14 Bcf. Stocks in the West Region were 68 Bcf above the 5-year average after a net drawdown of 16 Bcf. At 1,895 Bcf, total working gas is within the 5-year historical range.

Natural Gas Prices Test New Lows

Natural gas prices remain at multi year lows, leading many producers to further curtail production and expansion plans.

Natural Gas Inventory Report 2-19-09

Working gas in storage was 1,996 Bcf as of Friday, February 13, 2009, according to EIA estimates. This represents a net decline of 24 Bcf from the previous week. Stocks were 177 Bcf higher than last year at this time and 155 Bcf above the 5-year average of 1,841 Bcf. In the East Region, stocks were 57 Bcf below the 5-year average following net withdrawals of 25 Bcf. Stocks in the Producing Region were 142 Bcf above the 5-year average of 595 Bcf after a net injection of 16 Bcf. Stocks in the West Region were 69 Bcf above the 5-year average after a net drawdown of 15 Bcf. At 1,996 Bcf, total working gas is within the 5-year historical range.
