Working gas in storage was 1,827 Bcf as of Friday, May 6, 2011, according to EIA estimates. This represents a net increase of 70 Bcf from the previous week. Stocks were 249 Bcf less than last year at this time and 37 Bcf below the 5-year average of 1,864 Bcf. In the East Region, stocks were 110 Bcf below the 5-year average following net injections of 41 Bcf. Stocks in the Producing Region were 118 Bcf above the 5-year average of 721 Bcf after a net injection of 22 Bcf. Stocks in the West Region were 44 Bcf below the 5-year average after a net addition of 7 Bcf. At 1,827 Bcf, total working gas is within the 5-year historical range.

In the East Region, stocks were 98 Bcf below the 5-year average following net injections of 41 Bcf. Stocks in the Producing Region were 120 Bcf above the 5-year average of 697 Bcf after a net injection of 24 Bcf. Stocks in the West Region were 39 Bcf below the 5-year average after a net addition of 7 Bcf. At 1,757 Bcf, total working gas is within the 5-year historical range.
